| Vast Empire Donations |  | Posted by Kadann on 21 Aug 10 | I want to personally thank those that have made some recent large donations to the Vast Empire.
There have been 2 individuals in the past 2 months that have donated a substantial amount.
Imperial Benefactor Quillia donated $900 on June 30, 2010 and is now up to $1,000 in total donations.
Imperial Templar Rocketman1167 has made quite a few donations over the past month that now total $700.
Thank you to both of you for your large contributions. Your donations are much appreciated.
I want everyone to take notice of the donations page. There are quite a few people on there that have donated over the past few years. Make sure to thank them for their donations.

We'll be moving to the new server soon. More details to come on when this will happen.
In the meantime, I've made a few changes that will hopefully keep the server from crashing.

| DJO Applications: OPEN | | Posted by Angel on 11 Aug 10 | As I promised two weeks ago in the meeting, applications are now open for the Dark Jedi Order.
There will be TWO slots available, but that does not mean both will be filled at this time. Application does not equate acceptance, nor does being the most qualified of the applicants mean you are guaranteed a spot. If no one qualified applies, no one will be accepted. This is at the sole discretion of the Dark Council to determine.
Rules for Application:
- Active for 4-6 consecutive months with consistent participation levels.
- Writing Sample:
- Representative of your best writing.
- Can be a link to a squad(ron) story, personal story, or independent work.
- Must have at least one page of content
- Letters of Recommendation:
- One from a direct superior in the chain of command at the level of Squad(ron) leader or above.
- One from another superior, or a member of the Dark Jedi Order NOT serving on the Dark Council (see below).
- Letters are to be sent directly to the Dark Council. Applicant is NOT to have access to or know the content of these.
- Application must be submitted to the Dark Council via Comnet PM.:
Please include with your application the names of those who are submitting your Letters of Recommendation.
Applications will close August 28th at Midnight (Server Time). Those accepted into the Order will be announced at the meeting on August 29th.

| Server Issues | | Posted by Kadann on 24 Jul 10 | As many of you have noticed, the server was down pretty much all day today. This was due to the fact that one of our database tables became corrupted. Not to worry though, no data was lost.
It took most of the day, but I was able to recover the database table. We run daily backups, so if anything was to happen, we would be able to recover with minimal data loss.
That brings me to my next order of business. Next month, we will be moving to a new server. The one we are currently on has served us well for a good 5+ years now. The new server is ridiculously fast and will work great for another 5-10 years!
More information to come as to the dates of the server move in mid August.
Those of you with email accounts, I will get the same accounts setup on the new server, but will not transfer old emails. So if you want your old emails, make sure to download them before we shut down the old server.

| Inter Club Multiplayer Tournament | | Posted by Rizzit on 25 Jun 10 | So most of you may be aware of this, I am sure those of you are not. I have been under negotiations with Emperor's Hammer (per Kadann's permission of course) to work out some multiplayer gaming. It started out as a simple RTS matchmaking project, but it sort of evolved tonight into a full blown Ladder/Tournament. We even got a couple other clubs involved. So why am I telling you this?
As of this moment, signups for the competition on our end are open. You are to post on this thread your full (fictional) name and callsign (this includes rank), e-mail address that you want to use to be contacted (it better work), your time(s) available if you know them or at least your timezone, and which games you can play (along with any additional contact info if available).
The games supported will be:
[*]Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds
[*]Star Wars: Empire at War
[*]Star Wars: Jedi Outcast
[*]Star Wars: Jedi Academy
[*]Sins of a Solar Empire
[*]BF2142
[*]Call of Duty 4
There is one thing regarding the games. Emperor's Hammer is only allowed to play Star Wars (or Star Wars modded) games. Therefore, any of the non-Star Wars games listed above NEED to be modded. Links to downloads and the necessary maps will be provided to you (which means yes, this is PC only).
Now, that said: once you sign up you will be contacted by myself or Shazaam from the Navy. The tournament begins July 11th, so you have until July 3rd (or 4th depending on timezones) to sign up. It will close promptly then. No exceptions. The rules and regulations will be handed down the week before or a little earlier. For now, I can tell you that there will be an assigned match time that you are to show up for based on your (and your match's) availability.
So by now I am sure some of you are asking "What's in this for me?" Well, for starters the Vast Empire has multiplayer campaign awards in existence that we can hand out to those who performed well. Furthermore, participation in the tournament might bring in some new recruits for those of you worried about member counts. Beyond that there will be promotions and other various awards like ICs or ICS Merchandise that we might award to you. Above all it WILL be fun. So, signup today and best of luck to you. Hopefully, we can bring some glory to this, the vastest of empires! |
| Imperitrade Financial Updates | | Posted by Kadann on 19 Jun 10 | Military Munitions Association (MMA) decided to do a stock split today. They performed a 5/4 stock split. So that means that they made every 4 shares into 5 shares and dropped the price by 20% to make the stock more affordable.
In other news, stock dividends were sent out today for five of the major corporations listed at the Imperitrade Financial. These companies decided to send out their dividends on the same day.
These dividends are for the 2010 half year earnings. Each company has shown substantial growth and wanted to reward their stockholders with a share of the revenue to show their appreciation to the shareholders.

IMC - 100,000,000 ICs
IMTF - 100,000,000 ICs
IVE - 100,000,000 ICs
If you owned any of the stocks listed above that sent out dividends today, then you received a share of the dividend amount comparable to the percentage of ownership you have in the stock.

For all of those who missed this weeks meeting, we had to sort of shuffle it into another room because our Op was having some technical difficulties getting the room set up. Anywho, I'll be updating this page with the log.
Also, if the technical difficulty continues, you can expect to see the official Vast Empire meeting to take place in #Overlord (unless an HC member arrives  ). Thanks again for the patience of all those who were there, and congrats to Garryl, Atoll and Takamot on their 1 Million IC lottery drawing!

| Pay Per Click Rewards Update | | Posted by Kadann on 28 May 10 | Congratulations Willtconq! You were the first to reach the PPC milestone of 20,000 clicks! As well as most of the others.
It only took someone 6 years to reach this goal since we started the PPC rewards. I'm not sure Willtconq started PPC right when we released it, but once he took the lead he's been dominating ever since.
In case no one knows about this additional bonus. By being the first to reach a PPC milestone, that means an extra 10% is added to the total reward value. So Willtconq actually got 33,000,000 ICs of Imperial Stock for reaching 20,000 clicks!

| Open Doors Long Shut | | Posted by Rizzit on 18 May 10 | | Imperials, Friends, People. I mentioned at the meeting that The Osk Company would be opening it's doors. I am reaffirming that to be truth. While once we remained closed to the Vast Empire at large we are now opening the path for anyone with time and penchant for violence to join.Why? Well who really cares why? Simply put I feel that it would be best for all, now that we have our foundation, to experience a different side of the galaxy and a different form of writing. A division that does not have the suffocating requirements of normal VE activity but still strives to promote a higher quality of writing.Should you wish to join (which currently is as simple as sending a comnet pm or email to yours truly) you will be placed in a group of Prospectives, essentially belonging to any of the current captains that either want you or you get assigned to until the mission is complete. Here you are essentially cannon fodder and must prove yourself to be of higher value than simply a human shield. From there, if you work hard and contribute, you will be moved up to the position of Underthing, working directly for a captain as a sort of apprentice pirate. If you can remain active and continue to contribute you have the choice of moving on to captain your own vessel and gain the honor of commanding your own Underthings and Prospectives, or you can move to being a freelancer, a gun for hire who specializes in particular areas, eventually, if you choose, joining the Council of Captains and helping to decide the future of the mad little band.There is a galaxy to plunder, are you up to task? |
